Same Day Service for Online Skip Hire Providers

Most skip hire providers operate their business entirely over the phoneand the business often consists of one man, his mobile and his truck which means that he can pretty much tell you when you ring him when he can do the booking. More often than not providers will do bookings on the same day, if you call them early enough in the day. Online providers generally cannot provide this type of service which is a drawback of using online skip bin booking engines.

Online service providers basically do next day bookings but prefer for bookings to be taken earlier rather than later to allow their suppliers time to be well organised.

The Skip Bin Video I've Found

I have to say that this vidoes is pretty cool. A Skip Truck that anyone small ennough can drive. I especially liked the theatrics of puting the blocks into the bin, Unfortunately the blocks floated to the bottom of the skip bin.

When Apartments Need Skip Bins, Things Get Difficult

My apartment building recently got a skip bin for residents to put rubbish in that they had either been storing in their parking spot or that were bulky items. The bin was simply placed in the drive way (rather close to an awning) but we no one said how high to fill the bin. This I think was not a good move on the strata's part because by the end of the week and a half that the skip bin was out the front it was well overfilled. Unfortunately I only got the photo part way through the week so it doesn't show how full it was when Dats Skip Bins came to collect it.

Overfilling bins is a big issue for skip bin service providers in Australia who must ensure that the load on the back of the truck is covered and that no items are going to fly of the back of the marell truck. Additionally if the skip bin has been overloaded with heavy wastes the truck may also be overweight. This can have dire consequences in terms of the drivers and other road users safty and also may attract large fines.

Am I Weird Because I like Garbage Trucks?

Having worked for the past 5 years developing software for the waste industry I have built up a certain affinity for spotting the Garbage truck and saying that's "Insert Waste Company Here" isn't that a nice truck. The other classic is "look at that bin that's been overfilled, I wonder if they'll get charged for that...". This may seem like a weird past time but when you spend most days trying to build intelligent software to handle all the different charging mechanisms and record all the data about what services have been rendered you end up paying attention to these sorts of things.

I was a little amused when my wife pointed out that some children also have this same problem usually 2 - 4 year old. Purhaps I'm just showing my real age :)

Skip Bin Hire Online?

While skip bins have been "online" for some time now, which allows the consumer to purchase their skip bin hire on the web through a middle man, everyday service providers who deliver these services have not been able to direcly advertise and allow consumers to choose to use their services over anothers based on anything but price. This is due to the misconception that the only thing that matters to someone who wants to hire a skip bin is price.

Although price is obviously an important factor when deciding which service provider is the "best" there are also other factors. These other factors include many personal preferences like whether or not you want the driver to be curtious or if you mind how many times he curses while he is dropping off and picking up the skip bin. Addittionally there may be other costs involved with hiring the skip bin that may not be fully disclosed at the time of booking. These costs include things like including matresses in the rubbish to be removed.

Some consumers have more complex requirements than they often care to understand prefering to "leave it to the professionals". This is evedent in the building industry where larger firms will often have a number of skip bins to dispose of different types of waste products rather than a single large skip bin so that they can pay lower rates for wastes that are either recyclable or are not hazardous.
